About Me

Hi! I’m Renee. I teach at a charter school in St. Paul, MN. This is currently my 2nd year at this school and my 8th year teaching overall. I have spent 5 years in charter schools and 3 years in a catholic school.

My current school’s population consists of 33% Hispanic, 43% Asian/Pacific Islander, 13% Black, 10% White, and 1% other. We are approximately 80% free and reduced lunch.

At some point during the past 8 years, I have taught every subject to middle schoolers in some form but my real passion is teaching Math.

When I started my practicum placements for college courses, I thought I was going to love working with elementary students and then I took my middle level math pedagogy course and something clicked. I loved working with middle school students and I have never looked back.

When I’m not teaching (or working on things for teaching), I can be found watching the latest movie releases, baking, putting together puzzles, or crocheting (kinda like knitting, but not really… google it if you need).
